start out with two cups of bobby mcferrin. add the slow climb to a mountain's peak at sunset and stir in three tablespoons of experimental cello and a twist of african drums. mix with a cup of brazilian coffee at dawn and just a dash of electronica. throw it in the oven and bake at 200 degrees for six hours. your arthur russell concoction should yield a serving size of approximately three people.this album, in fact, is very much a special feast. every song has been masterfully prepared and simmered to perfection. from the point at which the first egg is cracked (the title track) all the way down to the final garnish of "a sudden chill," it is no secret to all who partake that this dish was executed with care and love. you almost can taste the cello notes. enjoy.
